Job summary

Ubiquity is hiring a Places Engineer to manage day-to-day operations for one or two sites, focusing on keeping building systems reliable and compliant. The role blends hands-on technical work with coordination of contractors and on-site teams to ensure safe, productive workplaces.

The ideal candidate has deep HVAC, electrical, and construction experience, reads drawings well, and can lead engineering efforts for a contractor delivering commercial buildouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or related field.
• 5+ years in facilities or buildings engineering.
• Experience leading engineering function for contractor delivering commercial buildouts or fit-outs preferred.
• PRC license (RME/RMP/PME) is a strong advantage.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, contractors, and multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repair of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
• Schedule and supervise preventive maintenance to surface repair needs early.
• Manage critical systems (power, UPS, fire protection, security) and upgrades.
• Coordinate external contractors to meet safety and quality standards.
• Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, inventories, and metrics.
• Monitor energy usage to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with local guidelines and policy; audit-ready documents.
• Lead and train maintenance technicians and staff; foster ownership culture.
• Coordinate with Security and Housekeeping for daily site operations.
• Manage facility maintenance budget and capital projects with architects/contractors.
• Review and validate drawings and contractor scopes for builds and fit-outs.
