Job summary

Newcore Industries International Inc. is seeking an entry-level Cost Controller/Cost Engineer to support monitoring and reporting of project costs. You will assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis while coordinating with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, and Finance teams on cost information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Licensed Civil Engineer or pursuing licensure.
• Basic knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Basic understanding of BOQ, quantity take-off, project documentation, and construction costs is an advantage.
• Proficient in MS Excel; formulas, Pivot Tables, and basic data analysis.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, or ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and willing to learn project cost-control processes.
• Able to work effectively with different project teams.
• Willing to work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring project costs, expenditures, and budget utilization.
• Assist in preparing project cost reports, forecasts, and financial monitoring reports.
• Compare actual costs against approved budgets and help identify variances.
• Assist in analyzing cost trends and potential cost overruns.
• Monitor project progress and assist in tracking its impact on project costs.
• Assist in reviewing purchase orders, contracts, change orders, and other cost-related documents.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, and Finance teams regarding project cost information.
• Assist in preparing variation orders, claims, and additional work cost documentation.
• Maintain accurate project cost records and databases.
• Assist in preparing monthly cost reports and management updates.
• Support project forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and budget revisions.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company cost-control procedures.
• Perform other cost control and project-related tasks as assigned.
