HIRING: PROJECT COST & CONTROL ENGINEER
Location: Manila City / Hybrid / Site Visits as Required
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Project Cost & Control Engineer to monitor project budgets, costs, procurement, and progress across multiple construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure that projects remain within budget, identify cost variances early, and provide management with accurate financial and operational reports for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Monitoring & Control
- Track project costs against approved budgets and BOQs.
- Monitor labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.
- Identify cost overruns, savings opportunities, and budget variances.
- Prepare cost forecasts and cash flow projections.
Project Progress Monitoring
- Monitor actual accomplishments versus project schedules.
- Validate project progress for billing and cost reporting purposes.
- Coordinate with Project-in-Charge (PIC), Site Engineers, and Operations Team regarding project status.
- Review project estimates and budget allocations.
- Assist in preparing revised budgets and cost projections.
- Analyze actual project costs versus estimated costs for future project improvement.
- Monitor material purchases, deliveries, and consumption.
- Review purchase requests and purchase orders for budget compliance.
- Track major material cost fluctuations and report potential impacts.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare weekly and monthly cost control reports.
- Generate project dashboards showing budget, actual costs, committed costs, and forecasted costs.
- Present project financial performance and recommendations to management.
Variation Orders & Change Management
- Monitor approved and pending variation orders.
- Track project scope changes and their impact on budget and schedule.
- Assist in pricing and documentation of additional works.
Documentation & Systems
- Maintain cost control databases, project trackers, and monitoring tools.
- Ensure proper filing of contracts, purchase orders, billings, and cost records.
- Support continuous improvement of project cost management systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Licensed Engineer is an advantage but not required.
- At least 2 years of experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, project controls, or cost engineering.
- Strong understanding of BOQ, BOM, project budgeting, and construction costing.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with project monitoring, cost tracking, and reporting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
