Job summary

OSM Thome is seeking a hands-on Fitter for offshore dredger assignments worldwide. The role involves maintaining hull, deck and machinery steelwork to a high standard while following strict safety practices.

You will perform welding, cutting and fabrication tasks on deck and in the engine room, assist engine crew, and contribute to safe operation across vessels worldwide. Role requires STCW certificates, medical fitness for worldwide service, and strong teamwork in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Fitter at sea, preferably on offshore/dredger or similar vessels.
• Strong welding and fabrication skills (arc, gas cutting, basic machining)
• Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness for worldwide service
• Good English for work and safety communication
• Team player with a practical, problem-solving attitude

Responsibilities

• Carry out welding, cutting, grinding and fabrication jobs on deck and in engine room
• Perform hull, piping, structure and equipment repairs as instructed by Chief Engineer
• Assist engine crew with maintenance and overhauls when required
• Maintain tools, welding machines and workshop in safe working order
• Follow onboard safety procedures and permit-to-work system at all times
