You will assist with patient care, monitor vital signs, help with mobility, hygiene, meals, and transport to procedures while communicating patient concerns to the nursing team. Patient Care
Assist with bed-making, changing linens, and maintaining patient comfort.
Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, oxygen saturation, and cardiac rate.
Assist patients with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and activities of daily living.
Assist with bathing, grooming, toileting, and other personal hygiene needs.
Provide sponge baths, hair shampooing, and diaper changes as required.
Serve meals and assist patients with feeding.
Respond to patient calls and communicate patient concerns to the staff nurse.
Observe patients for changes in condition, wounds, bruising, blood in urine, or other concerns and promptly report findings to the nurse.
Measure and record oral intake and urine output and report significant changes.
Monitor and report fecal output frequency.
Perform selected procedures such as soap-suds and cleansing enemas and warm sitz baths, as assigned and within scope of practice.
Assist in preparing patients for procedures and surgery, including pre-operative care.
Transport patients safely to and from procedures, examinations, and other hospital areas.
Assist and accompany patients when ambulance transport is required.
Collect specimens and deliver laboratory requests/specimens as instructed.
Pick up and deliver laboratory results, X-rays, radiology reports, pulmonary reports, and other requested documents.
Obtain medications and supplies from the pharmacy as assigned.
Run errands within or outside hospital premises as needed.
Prepare, refill, and monitor oxygen supplies as instructed.
Maintain and prepare patient rooms before, during, and after confinement and upon discharge.
Perform post-mortem care according to hospital policies and procedures.
Receive, check, maintain, and report the condition of equipment and machines, including cleanliness and availability of supplies.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of nursing stations, patient rooms, medication rooms, pantry areas, and other assigned areas.
Ensure necessary supplies and equipment are properly stored and readily available.
Properly care for and maintain sharps and instruments.
Change tray liners and fill up dressing tray containers as required.
Scrub and clean covers at least once a month or as scheduled.
Clean refrigerators when necessary.
Count and monitor soiled linens.
Properly segregate and dispose of waste in accordance with the institution’s waste management policy.
Perform other housekeeping and support duties as assigned.
