Job summary

The incumbent will monitor patient progress, maintain records, ensure medication safety, and assist in education for patients and families, with additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct nursing care procedures, including bedside nursing, hygiene, pre- and post-operative nursing care, as well as admission and discharge duties.
• Prepare nursing care plan.
• Administers medication, notes reactions, and refers patients to physicians.
• Prepares patients for and assists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for both normal and specialized treatment cases.
• Sets up the required treatment trays and instruments
• Observes, reports, maintains records on patients’ symptoms, medication, conditions, and progress of treatment and therapy.
• Coordinates with other sections of the hospital regarding patient care, and facilities transport/transfer of patients to other therapy.
• Assists trainees and nursing aides in performing nursing care procedures.
• Monitors and retrieves replacements for emergency medications, and reports breakages.
• Requisitions and monitors supplies as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness in respective areas.
• Assists in the physical and mental health education and rehabilitation of patients and their families.
• Performs other related functions as may be assigned.
