Job summary

World Health Organization Philippines is seeking an experienced Short-Term Consultant to strengthen regional and country capacities for the management, prevention and elimination of priority NTDs, including LF, leprosy, rabies, and soil‑transmitted helminthiases. The role focuses on technical assistance, M&E support, and One Health collaboration within the WHO country program.

Qualifications

Essential: University degree in science or medicine with a master’s level degree in public health, tropical medicine, epidemiology, medical parasitology or entomology.
Minimum of seven years of experience in public health disease control programme activities including at least three years of vector‑borne diseases control and/or research at international level.
Thorough knowledge of tropical diseases and their control/elimination; skills in health situation analysis, strategic thinking, programme management and evaluation; ability to travel and work in remote field conditions.

Responsibilities

Output 1: Develop a national roadmap for ending priority neglected tropical diseases in the Philippines, aligned with global and national guidance.
Deliverables include inputs to the roadmap using WHO/NDT roadmaps and DOH plans.
