Job summary

Coherent Philippines Pte Ltd is seeking a Production Operator to manage daily manufacturing tasks in our chemical/metals production environment. You will ensure smooth processes, maintain productivity, and meet volume targets while upholding safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has at least a high school diploma and 1 year of relevant production experience, with strong teamwork, problem-solving, and basic computer skills.

• Minimum 1 year experience as Production Operator in a chemical/metals production environment.
• Able to maintain a high level of output without sacrificing quality.

• Manufacturing Management & Productivity: Manages production activities to ensure processes run smoothly, maintain productivity, and meet volume targets.
• Continual Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives (e.g., EECIP, Bright Ideas, COQ) and cost-saving actions.
• Environmental, Health and Safety: Implement and maintain Good Housekeeping, investigate near-misses/incidents, ensure timely closure of actions.
• Documentation and Quality: Safeguard product quality by following PSM and WI, record observations and actions for traceability and compliance.
• Personnel Relations: Maintain effective communication and cooperation with coworkers to support smooth plant operations.

Job description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1. Manufacturing Management & Productivity

Manages production activities at their level to ensure processes run smoothly, maintain productivity, and consistently attend their assigned duties to ensure volume targets are met.

1. Continual Improvement

Actively participate in the implementation of process improvement projects, such as EECIP, Bright Ideas, COQ, and other cost savings initiatives in the various areas within the assigned Production plant.

1. Environmental, Health and Safety

Actively participate in the implementation and maintennace of Good Housekeeping procedures, investigation of near-misses and incidents, and ensuring that these are reported and commitment dates for closure of the actions are followed.

4 Documentation and Quality

Safeguards product quality through careful execution of the PSM and WI, observation of process conditions and timely correction of any deviations. Ensures all data, observations, and actions are properly recorded to support quality, traceability, and compliance.

5 Personnel Relations

Contribute to positive personnel relations by maintaining effective communication and cooperation with coworkers to support smooth and efficient plant operations.

Education & Experience

At least high school graduate

At least one (1) year experience as Production Operator in a chemical, metallurgical or materials production environment

Skills

Able to maintain a high level of output without sacrificing quality and effectively use of equipment to sustain high productive output.

Computer/software skills: Familiarity in the operations of a personal computer (PC)

Can communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.

Working Conditions

Working condition are normal for a chemical laboratory environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 25 kg. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment and personnel protection equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protectors, safety shoes/boots and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted to me worn.
