Job summary

MicroSourcing in Pasay City is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Accountant to manage general ledger entries for wages, benefits, taxes and retirement plans, and to reconcile payroll to the GL in a multi-currency environment.

The role requires 4–6 years of payroll/accounting experience, IFRS/GAAP knowledge, strong internal controls, and timely monthly close capabilities. SSC exposure and advanced MS Excel skills are a plus. Onsite night shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4 to 6 years of general accounting or payroll accounting experience, preferably in a multi-regional/multi-currency environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS (or GAAP) principles as they relate to compensation, employee benefits, payroll taxes, and retirement plans.
• Demonstrated ability to perform timely balance sheet reconciliations and manage strict monthly accounting close deadlines.
• Proven track record of maintaining internal controls and handling high-detail financial data.

Responsibilities

• Post and manage general ledger entries for wage expenses, payroll taxes, benefit expenses, withholdings, and insurance liabilities.
• Reconcile payroll registers to the general ledger to confirm gross wages, employer taxes, and net pay post accurately.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for payroll accruals, health plans, retirement funds, and vendor invoices.
• Maintain the payroll accrual calendar to ensure timely calculations in line with the company's accounting close schedule.
• Support internal and external teams with documentation for benefit plan, financial audits, and disclosure reports.
