Optum in Alabang is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to support patients through the financial clearance process before scheduled healthcare services. You will verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, explain financial responsibilities, and document information accurately.

This role collaborates with patients, insurers, and healthcare teams to ensure smooth revenue cycle operations and compliant records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in Healthcare RCM or healthcare customer service.
• Experience with insurance verification or authorization.
• Experience with patient registration or patient access.
• Experience with medical billing or collections.
• Experience with health insurance services.
• Experience with healthcare payment collections in a voice-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage.
• Obtain authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications.
• Review medical necessity and process required documentation.
• Calculate and communicate estimated patient financial responsibility.
• Contact patients to verify demographic, insurance, and financial data.
• Educate patients on insurance benefits, billing, payment options, and assistance programs.
• Collect payments and assist with payment arrangements.
• Complete MSP requirements and documentation.
• Maintain accurate patient records per standards.
• Follow privacy, compliance, and data security protocols.
• Escalate accounts not meeting financial clearance.
• Deliver exceptional customer service for patient inquiries.
