Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support daily accounting operations in our Manila office. The role involves reconciliations, posting journal entries, and assisting with AP/AR activities, audits, and variance analyses to ensure accurate financial records.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting/finance, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Experience supporting accounts payable/receivable activities.
• Familiarity with balance sheet accounts and GAAP basics.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare balancing reports and verify data accuracy.
• Review balance sheet accounts and schedules for unusual items.
• Post daily accounting entries with proper documentation.
• Record AR/AP transactions accurately and on time.
• Process invoices and route for approvals.
• Coordinate intercompany balances and resolutions.
• Support audit requests and variance explanations.
• Maintain organized accounting records and internal controls.
