Responsibilities

• Configure, administer and support Riverbed SteelHead appliances and related Riverbed technologies.
• Support Cisco routing and switching across enterprise LAN, WAN and data-center environments.
• Monitor network availability, performance and application connectivity.
• Investigate network outages, performance degradation and connectivity incidents.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement optimization solutions.
• Manage incidents, problems and change requests using IT service-management processes.
• Perform network maintenance, health checks, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for critical P1 and P2 incidents.
• Maintain network diagrams, operating procedures, troubleshooting guides and knowledge articles.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security and service-management teams.

About the role

Avensys Consulting is looking for a Network Engineer with hands-on Riverbed SteelHead and Cisco routing and switching experience. In this role, you will support and optimize enterprise LAN, WAN and data-center environments while helping maintain reliable application performance and network connectivity.

The position includes participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation for P1 and P2 incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, administer and support Riverbed SteelHead appliances and related Riverbed technologies.
• Support Cisco routing and switching across enterprise LAN, WAN and data-center environments.
• Monitor network availability, performance and application connectivity.
• Investigate network outages, performance degradation and application-connectivity incidents.

Required qualifications

• At least two years of relevant network engineering or enterprise network-support experience.
• Hands-on experience administering or supporting Riverbed SteelHead.
• Experience with Riverbed Interceptor, RiOS and RS WAN Optimizer.
• Strong Cisco routing and switching knowledge.
• Experience supporting LAN, WAN and data-center environments.
• Strong network and application-connectivity troubleshooting skills.
• Experience investigating network-performance issues and conducting root-cause analysis.
• Ability to prepare clear technical and operational documentation.
• Legal authorization to work in the Philippines.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with SolarWinds, ThousandEyes or Riverbed monitoring tools.
• Experience using ServiceNow for incident, problem and change management.
• Knowledge of application acceleration, WAN optimization and enterprise network security.
• Relevant Cisco or Riverbed certifications.

Work arrangement

• Six-month contract
• Hybrid setup at Uptown Bonifacio Tower 3, Taguig
• Two office days per week, currently Tuesday and Wednesday
• Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week
• Schedule falls within the 6:00 AM-6:00 PM operating window
• Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation for P1 and P2 incidents
• Target start date: October 12, 2026
