Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Material Expeditor to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures timely delivery of materials, tools, and supplies, coordinating with procurement, warehousing, and project teams to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities include tracking shipments, verifying requests, and maintaining inventory records while complying with safety and environmental standards. International travel and US government contracting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in material handling, expediting, or supply chain operations.
• Familiarity with logistics and supply chain principles, including procurement, inventory management, and warehousing.
• Ability to track, manage, and report on the status of materials in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using inventory tracking software, databases, or ERP systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and vendors.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
• Passport should be valid for at least one year at the time of hire.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements and maintain physical readiness for deployment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and expediting the flow of materials, tools, and supplies within or between departments.
• Track shipments and deliveries to ensure supplies are received on schedule.
• Verify material requests and ensure accuracy with operational requirements.
• Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and team members to address delays or shortages.
• Maintain and update inventory records and procurement systems.
• Inspect shipments to verify condition and accuracy of received goods.
• Identify and report damaged materials to supervisors for resolution.
• Work with logistics and warehouse teams for proper handling and storage.
• Prepare reports on material usage, delivery timelines, and inventory levels.
• Monitor and improve material expediting processes to meet contractual requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards for materials handling.
