Job summary

StairBiz is a small Australian software company with a Makati development team building a cloud platform for stair manufacturers. You will contribute to QA, write production code, and help expand automated tests while learning the full SDLC from design to deployment.

You’ll work with senior engineers, participate in code reviews, and grow toward owning features end to end in a hybrid office setup three days a week in Makati.

Qualifications

Job description

We're a small Australian software company with a close-knit development team in Makati, near Makati Medical Center. Our product, StairBiz, is used by staircase manufacturers across Australasia, Europe and North America. It combines CAD design, 3D visualization, manufacturing (CAM), CNC integration, estimating, quoting, scheduling and business management in a single platform.

StairBiz has recently completed its core migration from a long-established desktop application to a modern cloud platform built on C# .NET, Angular and SQL Server. We're now expanding features, improving performance and polishing the user experience for a global customer base — genuinely interesting work in a geometry-heavy domain, a long way from typical CRUD applications.

You'll work directly alongside our senior engineers — real code review, real mentoring, real problems — and you'll play a key role in the quality of what we ship: testing new features, hunting regressions, and helping build out our automated test coverage.

Before You Apply — Two Things to Know

This is a growth role. You'll write production code every day with guidance and code review from senior engineers, and a meaningful part of the role is QA: testing features before release, reproducing and verifying customer-reported bugs, and building automated tests. If you see testing as beneath you, this isn't the right role.

We’ll teach you the whole SDLC. We train each and everyone in the development team the full-stack: from designing an application up to deployment and administration of cloud services.

Our technical interview includes hands‑on coding — we ask you to demonstrate how you work through a real problem, not just describe it. We calibrate expectations to a mid‑level engineer: we're looking for solid fundamentals and the ability to learn, not encyclopedic experience.

What You’ll Do

• Build features and fix defects across the platform — C# .NET Web APIs, Angular front end, SQL Server — with guidance and code review from senior engineers.
• Test new features and releases: write and run test plans, regression‑test changes, and verify fixes before they reach customers.
• Reproduce, investigate and document customer‑reported bugs so they can be fixed quickly and stay fixed.
• Help build and maintain automated tests (unit, integration and end‑to‑end).
• Learn the StairBiz domain — stairs, geometry, manufacturing — and grow into owning features end to end.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional software development experience (typically 2–4).
• Solid C# .NET fundamentals, and working knowledge of a modern web front end — Angular preferred, or a comparable framework with willingness to learn Angular.
• SQL basics: queries, joins, and an understanding of how schema design affects an application.
• Familiarity with Git or Azure DevOps.
• Strong attention to detail — you notice the edge case, the off‑by‑one, the layout that is 2 pixels off.
• Clear written and spoken English — you will write bug reports and test notes that others rely on.
• A degree in Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with testing frameworks or tools (xUnit/NUnit, Playwright, Cypress or similar).
• RESTful Web API development, Entity Framework, or Azure exposure.
• SVG, WebGL or an interest in graphics programming.
• AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code.
