The Network Engineer maintains the availability, performance, and reliability of the bank's network infrastructure, with a primary focus on the data center network. This role is pivotal in maintaining scalable and robust network systems, implementing recovery and contingency procedures, and delivering exceptional service to support the bank's operational and strategic objectives.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on network infrastructure, adhering to ITIL-based quality standards and service level agreements (SLAs)
Configure and optimize network devices (e.g., routers and switches) to meet industry-standard protocols and bank-specific requirements
Conduct assessments of data center network readiness for new IT equipment installations, identifying and resolving compatibility issues or deficiencies
Collaborate with service providers, vendors, and internal teams to escalation and resolve network-related issues promptly
Communicate major network incidents to stakeholders, providing timely updates and resolution plans
Lead or support network-related projects for the seamless integration of data center hardware and network infrastructure
Monitor network performance and utilization, generating detailed reports to support capacity planning and proactive maintenance
Analyze recurring network issues, propose innovative solutions, and document findings to prevent future disruptions
Design, implement, and document data center network architectures
Provide after-hours support for critical network issues to minimize downtime and ensure rapid resolution
Bachelor's degree in ECE, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Minimum of one (1) year of hands-on experience in network engineering or a related role
Proficiency in LAN/WAN technologies, including the configuration and troubleshooting of routers and switches (e.g., Cisco, Huawei)
Strong understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs) and network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds)
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices for securing network infrastructure
Proactive self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrates good critical thinking and attention to detail in high-pressure environments
