Job summary

Firefly Electric and Lighting Corp. (FELCO) in Ermita, Manila, is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer (Mobile). You will own mobile features and work across the full SDLC to deliver secure, performant applications.

The role requires 1–3 years in mobile development and hands-on experience with native or cross‑platform frameworks such as Swift, Kotlin, Java, Flutter or React Native. Collaboration with product and QA is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 1–3 years of progressive mobile development experience in a professional team.
• Strong proficiency in mobile development platforms/frameworks (Swift/Kotlin/Java, Flutter, or React Native).
• Solid knowledge of mobile app lifecycle, native device APIs (camera, location, notifications), and robust state management.
• Certifications focusing on advanced mobile frameworks or cloud platforms are a plus.

• Bug Fixing & Enhancements: Analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex issues; lead significant performance/stability improvements.

• Requirement Clarification: Translate business requirements into technical specs with stakeholders.

About the Role

Work Schedule: 5-day work week

The Mid-Level Software Engineer (IT Software Engineer 2 - Mobile) develops and enhances mobile applications that support operational and customer-facing processes. The developer takes ownership of assigned features, works across the full SDLC, and ensures that applications meet performance, security, and usability expectations. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams, contributes to architecture discussions, and provides technical guidance to junior members when needed. The position requires practical experience with mobile frameworks, APIs, and current development standards and practices.

Other responsibilities include:

• Feature Development: Design, develop, and own moderately complex mobile features and integrated components, ensuring seamless interaction with backend APIs and platform native functionalities.

• Bug Fixing & Enhancements: Independently analyze, diagnose, and resolve non-routine, complex technical issues and bugs across the mobile application stack. Lead implementation of significant enhancements to improve application performance or stability.

• Testing & Documentation: Develop and execute comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end test cases for owned components. Contribute to the creation of detailed technical design documentation and specifications.

• Technical Notes & Task Logging: Prepare detailed design documents, technical specifications, and architecture diagrams for major assigned workstreams. Provide structured technical notes and summaries for knowledge sharing and handover.

• Requirement Clarification: Proactively engage with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and Leads to translate abstract business requirements into concrete technical specifications and implementation plans

To succeed and grow in this role, you will be required to meet the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any related field.

• 1–3 years of progressive experience in mobile development, specializing in native or cross-platform engineering in a professional team environment.

• Strong proficiency in one or more primary mobile development platforms/frameworks (e.g., Swift/Kotlin/Java, Flutter, or React Native) used in a production environment

• Solid knowledge of mobile application lifecycle, native device APIs (e.g., camera, location, notifications), and robust state management.

• Certifications focusing on specific advanced mobile frameworks or cloud platforms (e.g., Android Certified Developer, iOS certifications) are a plus
