Job summary

AMCS is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our engineering team in Manila. You will mentor engineers and drive reliability, scalability, and security of our SQL-based databases across on-prem and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of DBA experience, strong SQL skills (T-SQL, PL/pgSQL), and hands-on cloud DB management (Azure, AWS, GCP). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal database performance and data security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of database administration experience, including 2+ years in cloud DB environments.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server and PostgreSQL with cloud DB management.
• Proficiency in PowerShell and Python for automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DataOps practices.
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana and DataDog.

Responsibilities

• Administer, manage, and maintain SQL databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, PostgreSQL).
• Possess understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) to design and manage cloud database infrastructure.
• Automate administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency through scripting (PowerShell, Python).
• Monitor, analyse and optimise database performance across a large database estate.
• Troubleshoot and resolve reported database-related issues, providing timely solutions.
• Collaborate with development teams to design robust database solutions.
• Act as SME during investigation and resolution of live customer incidents.
• Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with all applicable policies and standards.
• Undertake database project work as required
