Position Title: Microfinance Field Assistant
Duty Station: El Nido, Palawan

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for operating and maintaining diesel/gas generator sets and cold storage systems. Ensures
reliable power supply and optimal refrigeration performance, minimizing downtime and supporting
temperature-sensitive operations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the strategic development of the social economy programs through regular reporting to the head office.
- Conduct GRT meetings in identifying savings groups/IGGs and Coops who will avail the loan.
- Lead in analyzing the overall loan applicant’s application to determine feasibility of the loans.
- Manage the delivery of sustainable microfinance program;
- Organize an active team for efficient microfinance service delivery in the area of operation.
- Keep updated with the market situation and provide timely feedback to the management in order to develop and keep our competitive advantage.
- Build and sustain a strong base of community partners for community mobilization.
- Ensure that appropriate systems and methodologies for staff and community partners accountability are in place including program monitoring tools and formats.
- Group strengthening and empowerment as independent informal or formally registered association, cooperative or people organization.
- Actively participate in the implementation of the integrated community development program of GNI Philippines.
- Identify and develop partnerships with organizations, training institutions for small business development, micro-credit, financial planning, and on inclusive approaches.
- Submit monthly Web Program updates, Payment Collection, IG MOR and Filing of CR and LR to the GN SDMI finance staff.
- Monitor Cooperative development and microfinance activities on a regular basis to ensure that the activities are conducted.
- Consolidate, review and monitor the loan information details and documents of SGs/IGG/Coop.
- Establish and strengthen partnership with POs, NGOs and stakeholders in the community.
- Lead the project or program implementation related to social enterprise, cooperative, among others.
- Coordinate with the Field Manager or head of the team in the project area.
- Carry any other duties as directed by Division Manager/MFI Manager.
Qualifications:
- ITI or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or related technical
field
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Cooperatives, Cooperative Management, Entrepreneurship or Microfinance.
- With at least three (3) years of relevant experience in the same field.
- Work experience in an International NGO is an advantage.
- Strong discipline in loan processing, collection of payment and savings mobilization.
- Knowledgeable in group or community organizing.
- Able to conduct simple training for group strengthening.
- Leadership skills for staff management and community mobilization.
- Building rapport with the community and assisting in improving their livelihood or developing IGPs.
- Adapt IGP activities/programs to local conditions and identify local resources and mobilize them.
- Capable of promoting an understanding of IGPs in the community and linking IGPs with local private enterprise and marketing.
- Basic math and analytical skills to understand the story behind the numbers.
- Basic office management.
- Conduct of basic operation and financial audit.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
