Job summary

TE Connectivity Corporation is seeking a Manager II Strategic Sourcing (Mechanical) to lead NPD procurement across multiple product lines. You will manage a team, drive strategic sourcing initiatives, and coordinate with regional/global management to optimize BOM costs, lead times and supplier performance.

The role emphasizes new product introduction, dual sourcing strategies, and localization efforts with global teams. Strong English communication and advanced MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ experience in NPD Sourcing or multiple commodity management role with solid team leader experience.
• Experience in New Product Introduction in a global company is preferred.
• Experience in sourcing mechanical components (stamping, molding, diecasting, machining) and electronics (PCB/PCBA, cable).

Responsibilities

• Lead NPD procurement for designated product lines and manage team progress.
• Complete Kaizen projects as directed by regional/global management.
• Develop and implement integrated supply chain activities for New Product Introduction.
• Coordinate RFQs and supplier assessments to meet BOM cost targets and lead times.
• Provide strong support for TE manufacturing plants for NPI projects.

Manages and implements sourcing strategic project lifecycle, identifies emerging issues and trends, and recommends solutions.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

The NPD (New Product Development) Strategic Sourcing manager will focus on the following initiatives:

• Team leader of NPD Proc for certain product lines, managing the team’s working progress, addressing the issues team have, being the escalation window for assigned product lines related new project sourcing issues, monitoring the team’s KPI and fostering team members development.
• Complete Kaizen projects as directed by regional or global management.
• In the meantime, the position will also take care of partial new projects in specific product line.
  • Focal point of all supply chain initiatives associated with NPD for assigned product lines.
  • Develop & implement all integrated supply chain activities for New Product Introduction.
  • Fully understand new project background information, including project footprint plan, project commercial information in terms of sample/ramp up/MP schedule and cost target, BOM components technical requirement and etc.
  • Develop strategic vision for supply base at conception phase of new products.
  • Improve time to market including quotation and sampling activities, driving material standardization,
  • Arrange RFQ, analyze and organize SSR meeting to award business based on cost, lead time, core competency, location and risk mitigation considerations.
  • Ensure vendor quoted costs meet BOM cost Landing Zone targets. Work with commodity management team and should cost team to achieve the target.
  • Design first-time-right supply chains for new products / platforms during development phase
  • Promote Dual Source and Localization in new project phase.
  • Work with commodity management to leverage supplier capabilities and improve collaboration among TE and supply base
  • Improve overall service from Procurement to Internal customer e.g. project managers and project core team members.
  • Provide strong support for TE manufacturing plant(s) for NPI projects.
  • Holds Voice of Customer Sessions with internal customers and utilizes feedback to improve team performance and supply base service.

What your background should look like

Qualifications:

• 15+ years’ experience in NPD Sourcing or multiple commodity management role with solid team leader experience.
• Proven Experience in New Product Introduction in a global company is preferred
• Experience in sourcing mechanical components such as stamping, molding, diecasting, machining, and electronics components such as PCB, PCBA, cable. Technical understanding of these commodities is required.
• Education: Bachelor level degree in Business, Supply Chain, Sourcing/ Procurement or related field. Advanced degree a plus.
• Strategic thinking.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal English.
• Self-motivated individual with a positive attitude, able to work well with international teams and individuals.
• Strong analytical skills, comprehensive and logic thinking.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills.
• Proficient in MS office suite; advanced Excel, Power point.
