Job summary

Global Dollarstore is seeking a Merchandising Specialist to support and manage FMCG Food and Non-Food categories within our growing retail team. You will coordinate with suppliers, source products, set pricing, and drive promotions to optimize performance and margins.

The role requires strong negotiation, analytical, and Excel skills, with 2–3 years of relevant experience in merchandising or purchasing, preferably in FMCG.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant Merchandising, Buying, Purchasing, Category Management, or Supplier Management experience.
• Experience as Buyer, Junior Buyer, Purchasing Officer/Associate, Merchandising Officer/Specialist or similar role preferred.
• FMCG and retail industry experience preferred.
• Experience handling Food and Non-Food FMCG products is an advantage.
• Strong background in supplier coordination, product sourcing, price negotiation, and vendor relationship management.
• Knowledge of product costing, pricing, margins, rebates, discounts, promotions, and trade deals.
• Experience in analyzing sales, inventory, product movement, and category performance.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor product costs, selling prices, margins, sales performance, and inventory movement.
• Analyze product performance and recommend actions for replenishment, promotion, markdown, replacement, or discontinuation.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding purchase orders, deliveries, product availability, and outstanding concerns.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times, product quality, and compliance with agreed terms.
• Assist in planning and implementing promotional activities, seasonal campaigns, and supplier-supported programs.
