Job summary

Global Dollarstore is seeking a Merchandising Specialist to support FMCG Food and Non-Food categories, supplier coordination, and product sourcing. You will monitor pricing, promotions, and performance, and collaborate with suppliers to optimize assortments and profitability.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in business-related field and 2–3 years in merchandising or buyer roles, with strong Excel and vendor management skills. Located in Metro Manila, Philippines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in Merchandising, Buying, Purchasing, Category Management, or Supplier Management.
• Experience as a Buyer, Junior Buyer, Purchasing Officer/Associate, Merchandising Officer/Specialist, or similar role is highly preferred.
• FMCG and retail industry experience is highly preferred.
• Experience handling Food and Non-Food FMCG products is an advantage.
• Strong background in supplier coordination, product sourcing, price negotiation, and vendor relationship management.
• Knowledge of product costing, pricing, margins, rebates, discounts, promotions, and trade deals.
• Experience in analyzing sales, inventory, product movement, and category performance.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned FMCG Food and Non-Food product categories.
• Coordinate and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Source new products, brands, and potential suppliers based on market trends and company requirements.
• Request and evaluate supplier quotations, product proposals, samples, and commercial offers.
• Negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing, discounts, rebates, free goods, promotional support, and other trade agreements.
• Monitor product costs, selling prices, margins, sales performance, and inventory movement.
• Analyze product performance and recommend appropriate actions for replenishment, promotion, markdown, replacement, or discontinuation.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding purchase orders, deliveries, product availability, and outstanding concerns.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times, product quality, and compliance with agreed terms.
• Assist in planning and implementing promotional activities, seasonal campaigns, and supplier-supported programs.

About the role
