Job summary

Primer Group of Companies is seeking a Merchandising Manager in the Philippines. The role oversees merchandise planning, buying, and inventory management while guiding a merchandising team to meet financial targets and drive retail performance.

You’ll collaborate with marketing, suppliers, and brand teams to optimize product assortment, promotions, and distribution, ensuring budget compliance and strong gross margins across brands.

Qualifications

• MBA or bachelor’s degree in business-related field is required.
• At least 5 years of relevant merchandising, marketing, or retail experience.
• At least 2 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of merchandise planning, inventory management, and buying.

Responsibilities

• Lead merchandise planning and buying strategies aligned with sales targets.
• Manage open-to-buy budgets, purchase plans, and product assortment decisions.
• Analyze sales performance and inventory levels to identify opportunities and address issues.
• Work with Marketing to develop promotions that improve product sell-through.
• Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and product performance.
• Coordinate with suppliers and brand teams to support purchasing and distribution.
• Review purchase orders and price lists to ensure budget compliance and margins.
• Monitor monthly sales and inventory performance by brand.
• Lead, coach, and develop the merchandising team.
• Oversee departmental operations, supplier claims, and clearance of obsolete products.
