The Merchandising Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring merchandising activities to ensure excellent product visibility, availability, and execution across all assigned channels and accounts. The role supports the implementation of merchandising standards, promotional initiatives, and trade marketing programs while ensuring effective deployment of merchandising resources. The position serves as a key link between Sales, Trade Marketing, Merchandising Agencies, and Customers to maximize product presence and drive sales growth within the FMCG industry.
SPECIFIC SKILLS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, coordinate, and monitor merchandising plans and execution strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Ensure implementation of merchandising standards, planograms, display guidelines, and visibility initiatives across assigned accounts and territories.
- Coordinate with Sales and Trade Marketing teams regarding promotional activities, product launches, and in-store activations.
- Monitor execution of merchandising programs to ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
- Manage and coordinate activities of merchandising agencies, third-party service providers, and field merchandising personnel.
- Conduct regular market visits, store audits, and trade checks to assess merchandising effectiveness and retail execution.
- Monitor product availability, shelf presence, stock levels, and out-of-stock situations in assigned accounts.
- Ensure timely deployment and utilization of merchandising materials, point-of-sale materials, and promotional assets.
- Prepare merchandising schedules, deployment plans, and coverage monitoring reports.
- Evaluate merchandising productivity and effectiveness through established performance indicators.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain and Sales teams regarding stock availability and display requirements.
- Analyze merchandising reports, market feedback, and customer insights to recommend improvement opportunities.
- Support the implementation of category management, shelf optimization, and retail excellence initiatives.
- Resolve merchandising-related concerns and provide immediate corrective action when necessary.
- Prepare regular reports on merchandising compliance, promotional execution, visibility performance, and market conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of merchandising assets, deployment schedules, field activities, and agency performance.
- Support budget monitoring related to merchandising activities and field execution programs.
- Provide recommendations to improve product visibility, retail execution, and overall shopper experience.
- Participate in business reviews, planning sessions, training programs, and company initiatives.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by Management from time to time.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Advertising, Entrepreneurship, or any related field.
- At least 2-4 years of experience in Merchandising, Trade Marketing, Sales Operations, Retail Operations, or FMCG-related functions.
- Experience in handling merchandising agencies and field execution programs is preferred.
- Exposure to General Trade, Modern Trade, and Key Accounts is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of merchandising principles, retail execution, category management, and trade marketing operations.
- Knowledge of planogram implementation, product visibility strategies, and in-store merchandising standards.
- Understanding of FMCG sales operations, distribution, and promotional execution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Knowledge of reporting systems, field force monitoring tools, and business analytics is an advantage.
- Ability to analyze merchandising data, retail audit results, and execution performance reports.
