About the role
The MEPFS Engineer is responsible for both the cost estimation/quantity surveying and the system design of the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Sanitary (MEPFS) works of construction and fit-out projects. The role ensures accurate MEPFS costing, efficient and coordinated system design, and compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and sanitary works
- Perform quantity take-offs for electrical (power, lighting, FDAS, CCTV, and auxiliary systems), mechanical (HVAC, ventilation, and exhaust systems), plumbing and sanitary (water supply, drainage, waste, vent, and storm systems), and fire protection (sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and fire suppression systems)
- Review and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations across all MEPFS trades
- Prepare progress billings, variation orders, and final accounts for the MEPFS scope
- Monitor and control project costs and prepare cost reports
- Coordinate with project managers and site teams on cost-related matters
- Prepare MEPFS designs, layouts, calculations, and schematic diagrams
- Ensure compliance with applicable Philippine codes and standards and client specifications
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines to resolve clashes and integrate MEPFS systems
- Provide technical support during construction and resolve design-related issues
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related engineering discipline)
- Professional license: Registered Electrical Engineer (REE), Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME), or other relevant MEPFS license (e.g., Sanitary Engineer or Master Plumber)
- At least 5 years of experience in MEPFS design and quantity surveying/estimation
- Working knowledge of all MEPFS disciplines, with depth in at least one
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MEPFS estimating/design software (e.g., Revit MEP, HAP, or similar)
- Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and documentation skills
