Job summary

Marking Services Philippines is seeking a Commercial Mechanical Engineer to identify MSI product requirements for commercial projects based on design scope and client specifications. You will develop MTOs, set up Revit parameters, and mentor junior staff within BIM workflows.

The role requires advanced Revit and CAD skills (AutoCAD), plus strong MS Office and Excel abilities. A minimum of five years in HVAC & plumbing design for commercial buildings is expected, with excellent collaboration

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture or Mechanical (HVAC & plumbing) or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial building design, HVAC & plumbing.
• Advanced understanding of facility drawings and HVAC/plumbing layouts.
• Proficient in Revit and CAD software (AutoCAD).
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills; experience with Bluebeam is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determines and clarifies sizes and quantities of MSI products needed.
• Prepares a detailed MTO from customer drawings covering systems and inventory.

• Performs QC reviews to finalize MTO using in-house Revit plugin.

About the role

The Commercial Mechanical Engineer specializes in identifying MSI product requirements (labels, markers, valve tags, etc.) for commercial projects, based on design scope and client specifications. Working under a lead estimator, the role includes conducting Material Take Offs (MTOs), mentoring junior staff, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives related to Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Determines and clarifies the sizes and quantities of MSI products (signs, valve tags, etc.) needed

• Prepares a detailed MTO (Material Take Off) from customer-provided drawings, covering applicable systems and inventory including identification labels and markers for plumbing, HVAC ducting, and Medical Gas components, including mechanical piping, valves & equipment

• Sets up Revit parameters during the project's initial phase, based on defined scope

• Completes a QC review to finalize the MTO following the in-house developed automated Revit plugin MTO

• Involved in a R&D team for the continuous improvement of an in-house developed Revit plugin

• Regularly updates the assigned project Daily Status Reports (DSU) with appropriate project and material information

• Consistently meets or exceeds performance KPIs, reflecting both productivity and quality standards

• Conducts peer QC reviews

• Oversees and mentors junior Commercial Engineering staff (ENG Level 1–2)

About you

• Proficient in the usage of Revit. Advance knowledge in Revit would be a competitive advantage

• Degree in Architecture or Mechanical (HVAC & Plumbing systems) or equivalent related experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial building design, specifically HVAC & plumbing design & layout or equivalent related experience

• Advanced understanding of facility drawings including engineered contract drawings, Shop/IFC drawings, HVAC and plumbing layouts

• Proficient in the usage of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD)

• Experience with Bluebeam

• Proficient in MS Office products, advanced in Excel

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities

• Exhibits above average organizational skills, multitasking skills and has the ability to recognize and deal appropriately with priorities
