Qualifications

• AutoCAD proficiency is required.
• 0–5 years of MEP drafting or design experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and gas-piping systems.
• Ability to perform basic load, duct, pipe, gas, and fixture-unit calculations.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and markups accurately.

Responsibilities

• Prepare HVAC, plumbing, and fire-protection drawings in AutoCAD.
• Produce floor plans, riser diagrams, details, and schedules.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
• Size ductwork, piping, and gas systems.
• Perform plumbing fixture-unit calculations.
• Build existing-condition plans from field surveys, photos, and engineer markups.
• Prepare filing-ready drawing sets.
• Update drawings through submittals, RFIs, and project revisions.
• Coordinate closely with U.S.-based engineers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

F5 Global Talent is hiring an experienced MEP Drafter to support a fast-growing U.S. mechanical, plumbing, and fire‑protection engineering firm.

You’ll prepare AutoCAD drawing sets for commercial, multifamily, and hospitality projects — but this is not a drafting‑only role. You also need to understand the systems well enough to perform basic HVAC and plumbing calculations yourself.

You’ll work directly with U.S.-based engineers on projects from existing conditions through filing and construction documentation.

This is a full-time, long-term remote role open to candidates in India and the Philippines, working 8:30 AM–5:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Prepare HVAC, plumbing, and fire‑protection drawings in AutoCAD
• Produce floor plans, riser diagrams, details, and schedules
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations
• Size ductwork, piping, and gas systems
• Perform plumbing fixture‑unit calculations
• Build existing‑condition plans from field surveys, photos, and engineer markups
• Prepare filing‑ready drawing sets

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Strong AutoCAD proficiency
• 0–5 years of MEP drafting or design experience
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and gas‑piping systems
• Ability to perform basic load, duct, pipe, gas, and fixture‑unit calculations
• Ability to read engineering drawings and markups accurately
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Clear written and spoken English
• Ability to work 8:30 AM–5:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time

IMPORTANT

We are specifically looking for drafters who can also run the numbers.

If your experience is limited to copying engineer markups into AutoCAD without understanding or calculating the systems yourself, this role is likely not the right fit.

NICE TO HAVE
