Job summary

Philippine Children's Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to cover an 8-hour shift, rotating through the laboratory sections and reporting to the section in charge or Chief Med. Tech. The position is based in Metro Manila and requires reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Licensed Medical Technologist.
• Willing to rotate through laboratory sections.
• Able to work an 8-hour shift, including after-hours requests.

Responsibilities

• Goes on 8 hours shifting duty as Med. Tech.
• Reports to section in-charge or Chief Med. Tech for smooth operation.
• Rotates in the different sections of the laboratory.
• Performs routine and special procedures.
• Receives requests for laboratory examinations after office hours and in the absence of clerks.
• Receives and releases cadaver after office hours.
• Assists and supervises the Med. Tech. Interns on 24 hours duty.
• Maintains cleanliness, orderliness and smooth flow of operations of the section.
• Assists in performing the Quality Control Program.
• Monitors reagents, supplies and stock in section.
• Reports any out-of-order equipment and coordinates for repair.
• Acts as reliever in the absence of the section in charge.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Compliance to IMS Standards and Policies.

Job description

• Reports directly to section-in-charge and or Chief Med. Tech. for the smooth operation of the section;
• Rotates in the different sections of the laboratory;
• Performs routine and special procedures;
• Receives requests for laboratory examinations after office hours and in the absence of clerks;
• Receives and releases cadaver after office hours;
• Receives proper endorsement from the senior Med. Tech. or co-junior Med. Tech. at the start of shift for smooth operation of the section;
• Assists and supervises the Med. Tech. Interns who go on 24 hours duty;
• Helps maintains the cleanliness, orderliness and smooth flow of operations of the section;
• Assist the section in charge in performing the Quality Control Program;
• Helps maintain cleanliness, orderliness and smooth flow of the operation of the section. Helps in monitoring the reagents, supplies and stock in section.
• Reports any out of order equipment and coordinates with the section in charge for its immediate repair.
• Acts as reliever in the absence of the section in charge;
• Performs other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
• Compliance to IMS (Integrated Management System) Standards and Policies.
