Job summary

Concentrix is seeking a licensed Registered Medical Technologist to join our clinical lab operations in Metro Manila. The role covers routine hematology, chemistry, and microscopy, with emphasis on accuracy, compliance with DOH rules, and quality control.

The candidate will handle drug testing processes using IDTOMIS, ensure proper specimen handling, and collaborate with the Clinic Operations team to maintain service levels and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/MLS is required.
• Must be a licensed PRC Registered Medical Technologist (RMT).
• Must have a valid Drug Test Analyst (DTA) certification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical lab experience (not counting internship).
• PAMET membership or biosafety training is preferred.
• Proficiency in clinical lab procedures: hematology, microscopy, chemistry.
• Familiar with DOH guidelines, LIS, and IDTOMIS.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine tests in hematology, clinical microscopy, and chemistry.
• Collect and process patient specimens per protocols; maintain confidentiality.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment for accurate results.
• Review results and escalate abnormal/critical findings to providers.
• Maintain accurate lab records and ensure QA, safety, and waste disposal.

• Must be a licensed Registered Medical Technologist (RMT) with a valid PRC license.

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a primary clinical laboratory, excluding internship.
• PAMET membership or biosafety training
• Proficient in clinical laboratory procedures, including hematology, clinical microscopy, and clinical chemistry.
• Knowledgeable in drug testing procedures, DOH requirements, specimen handling, and laboratory quality control standards.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and DOH Integrated Drug Test Operations and Management Information System (IDTOMIS).
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant laboratory software.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Clinical Laboratory Operations

• Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, clinical microscopy, and clinical chemistry.
• Collect, process, analyze, and properly handle patient specimens following established laboratory protocols.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
• Evaluate and validate laboratory results, identify abnormal findings, and promptly elevate critical results to appropriate healthcare providers.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, test results, and patient information while ensuring strict confidentiality.
• Observe standard precautions, infection control measures, and proper disposal of hazardous laboratory waste.

Drug Testing Operations

• Perform screening drug testing procedures in accordance with DOH regulations and approved laboratory protocols.
• Operate authorized drug testing equipment and utilize the DOH Integrated Drug Test Operations and Management Information System (IDTOMIS).
• Collect drug testing specimens, encode results, and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
• Verify the completeness and accuracy of Custody and Control Forms (CCF) and guide patients through the drug testing process.
• Ensure availability of validated drug testing kits and coordinate required kit validation activities with DOH.
• Conduct investigations and resolve testing-related issues following the laboratory’s Manual of Operations and established SOPs.
• Prepare necessary documentation and coordinate with confirmatory laboratories for specimen endorsement, confirmatory testing, and payment processing.
• Monitor turnaround times and maintain accurate daily drug testing census and reports.

Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance

• Perform regular internal quality control checks on laboratory equipment, reagents, test kits, and consumables.
• Participate in external quality assessment programs, including NEQAS and the applicable Drug Testing EQAS.
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, laboratory accreditation requirements, and established quality assurance standards.
• Assist the Clinic Operations Manager in preparing regulatory documents and maintaining compliance records.
• Stay updated on laboratory practices, regulatory developments, and professional certification requirements.

Laboratory Administration & Maintenance

• Monitor inventory levels of reagents, drug testing kits, and laboratory consumables to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Prepare and submit monthly purchase requests for supplies and consumables to the Operations Manager.
• Monitor preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshoot minor equipment issues, and coordinate external servicing when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of laboratory and drug testing areas, including designated specimen collection facilities.
• Ensure proper shift endorsements and continuity of laboratory operations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Clinic Operations Manager.
