Job summary

TransCore LP is seeking a skilled Project Technician in the Philippines to perform assembly, installation, configuration, and maintenance of MLFF Roadside equipment (RSE) in field and workshop settings.

You will assemble and wire equipment inside outdoor enclosures, test configurations, and carry out on-site servicing, repairs, and upgrades. Knowledge of Windows and Linux hardware, plus the ability to read schematics, are essential; readiness to work at heights is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college credits and TESDA certification are a plus.
• General hardware assembly, troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux-based hardware.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical schematics.
• Willingness to learn and work at heights up to 6m.

Responsibilities

Job Description

TransCore LP Project Technicians in the Philippines will beperforming assembly, installation, configuration, and maintenance of Multi-LaneFree Flow (MLFF) Roadside equipment (RSE).

Job Summary: Assembly and maintenancetechnician with perform assembly, installation, and wiring of RSE equipmentinside outdoor enclosures, support in the staging, configuration, andvalidation of TransCore’s Infinity Digital Lane System RSE and perform on-siteor in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of RSE. This job may includeany aspect of field support including installation, troubleshooting and repairof electronic equipment and wiring, installation and configuration of componentsystems/firmware, including upgrades, modifications and programming; preventivemaintenance actions; documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining accurate accountability ofall parts and tools.
  
• Installation of equipment and wiring of equipmentinside outdoor enclosures.
  
• Equipment configuration and testing.
  
• Perform routine inspections, assembly, repair, andreassembly of assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  
• Use soldering or de-soldering equipment to reworkdefects.
  
• Operate equipment and logs required data using simplesoftware programs.
  
• Installation, preventive and corrective maintenance ofequipment including Microsoft Windows and Linux-based hardware, videosurveillance and detection equipment, radar/LIDAR detection equipment,network communications equipment.
  
• Complete reports, logs and perform shift-to-shiftcommunications in accordance with established policies, procedures andlocal practices.
  
• Respond to corrective maintenance requests or alarmswithin an acceptable time frame.
  
• Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and systemissues.
  
• Report on the technical status of the system withaccuracy and completeness.
  
• Restore equipment to operational status as quickly aspossible.
  
• Module or PC Board swap out.
  
• Isolation of faults in units or components.
  
• Field test of units or components.
  
• Maintenance of spare equipment and parts followingguidelines set forth to do so.
  

Requirements

Education: High school diploma. College credits, Vocational certification, or TESDA certificate a plus.

Required Skills:

General hardware technical assembly, troubleshooting and repair

General cabling, small tool proficiency

Experience on Microsoft Windows and Linux-based hardware

Blueprint, technical schematic proficiency

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Must maintain driver’s license in good standing as verified by TransCore.

Must be comfortable working at heights that could be in excess of 6m.

Familiarity with basic electrical or networking concepts.

Language Skills: Proficient in both English and Tagalog

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of Philippine money, and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Able to use both English and Metric systems and able to convert values between two standards.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
