Job summary

Marking Services Philippines is seeking an Engineer 1 in Angeles, Philippines, to identify locations and quantities for MSPI products (signs, valve tags) per client needs. You will support cost estimation through Material Take Offs under a lead estimator and work with PDD, P&IDs, and 3D snapshots.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, proficiency with Bluebeam/Navisworks/SmartPlant, strong Excel skills, and willingness to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Advanced understanding of facility drawings (equipment layouts, plot plans, P&IDs).
• Experience with Bluebeam, Navisworks or SmartPlant is essential.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills; able to prioritize.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse teams.
• Experience in construction, shipyard, marine, or Oil & Gas is a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

About the role

The Engineer 1 is responsible for identifying the location and quantities of MSPI products (signs, valve tags, etc.) based on the Industrial customer's project needs. As well, under the direction of a lead estimator, conducting Material Take Offs for cost estimation purposes.

Key responsibilities

• Read the Project Definition Document (PDD) to understand the scope of the project

• Trace lines within Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

• Mark-up P&ID's with unique identifying numbers and create Line List from data extracted from the P&IDs

• Create 3D model snapshots with limited supervision

• Determine and clarify the sizes and quantities of MSPI products (signs, valve tags, etc.) needed

• Perform in-house engineering or material take-offs for various Company products based on client provided drawings

• Ensure efficient process of quantifying of products is followed and list provided to production on the basis of sizes, types, specs, etc.

• Conduct CAD plotting of various signages, as required

• Regularly update assigned project Daily Status Reports (DSU) with appropriate project and material information

• Conduct peer QC reviews and assist in field activities such as site surveys, installation of markers, signs, tags and other MSI products

About you

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and/or related experience

• Advanced understanding of facility drawings including equipment layouts, plot plans, and P&IDs

• Previous experience with Bluebeam, Navisworks and/or SmartPlant is essential

• Proficient in MS Office products, advanced in Excel

• Above average organizational skills, multitasking skills and ability to recognize and deal appropriately with priorities

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities

• Prior experience in construction, shipyard, marine and Oil and Gas industry is a plus

• International travel is a requirement for this position
