Job summary

Advanced Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to design and develop mechanical systems for its Medical Design Group, balancing performance, reliability and cost. You will work with enclosures, heatsinks, cable assemblies and molded parts, using thermal and vibration simulations, 3D layouts and hands-on prototype testing to translate concepts into robust products that meet customer needs.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, have at least 2 years in

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2+ years in electromechanical or medical device product development.
Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo Parametric.
Knowledge of sheet metal design is desirable.
Experience with thermal/structural FEA tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

Owns mechanical design activities from concept through production release, including analysis, testing, documentation, and design verification of enclosures, bus bars, heat sinks, and other cooling mechanisms.
Creates mechanical models/drawings to GD&T standards and performs tolerance analyses.
Specifies experiments to prove and monitor design concepts.
Designs for manufacturing and assembly to minimize complexity and enable high manufacturability.
