Innosen Inc. in Pasig invites a Mechanical Instrument Design Engineer to lead full mechanical development of precision instruments from concept to manufacturing handover.

The role requires close collaboration with electronics and software teams on compact, high-precision assemblies. • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Aeronautical or related discipline considered).
• At least 2 years designing new products — mechanical design, product development or R&D.
• Fluency in 3D CAD with real drawing-release experience.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Hands-on experience with FEA for design validation.
• Experience building and testing prototypes, including 3D printing.
• Fluent written and spoken English — our R&D collaboration is international.
• Willingness to work on-site in Pasig City, five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Run FEA for structural and thermal validation, and tolerance stack-up analysis for precision assemblies

• Apply GD&T, DFM and DFA so what you design can actually be built at our volumes and cost
• Select materials and off-the-shelf components, and work with local and overseas suppliers
• Support new product introduction and the transfer into manufacturing
• Write the engineering documentation, test reports and technical manuals that go with the product
• Deliver to schedule against performance, quality and cost targets

Mechanical Instrument Design Engineer (R&D) — Innosen Inc. (On-site, Pasig City)

Innosen designs and manufactures the precision instruments that canmakers use to keep quality under control on their production lines — coating thickness gauges, inspection and measurement systems. Our instruments run on lines in Europe, Asia and the Americas. The housings, mechanisms and precision assemblies you design here go out with a serial number on them and stay in service for years.

We are looking for a Design Engineer for our R&D team in Pasig. You will take products through their full mechanical development — concept, detailed design, prototype, test, and handover to manufacturing. Our products are compact, precise and built in small volumes, and the mechanics have to work with the electronics and, sometimes, the optics inside them. You will design alongside our electronics and software engineers, not downstream of them.

What you'll be doing

What you need to have

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Aeronautical or a closely related discipline also considered)
• At least 2 years designing new products — mechanical design, product development or R&D. Maintenance, plant or facilities experience does not substitute for this
• Fluency in 3D CAD design with real drawing-release experience
• Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
• Hands-on experience with FEA for design validation
• Experience building and testing your own prototypes, including 3D printing
• Fluent written and spoken English — our R&D collaboration is international
• Willingness to work on-site in Pasig City, five days a week

Nice to have

• PRC-licensed Engineer
• Precision instruments, mechatronics, sensors or optics in your background
• Experience with small mechanisms, enclosures and sealing for industrial environments
• Sheet metal, machining or injection moulding design experience
• hobby in related field. You might maintain your own motorbike or car. Build model aircraft, participate in robot wars. All will be super useful

Who this role suits — please read this before applying

This is product development. You will be given a problem and asked what the mechanism should be, then you will model it, print it, break it, and do it again. It is a small team, so the design is yours from sketch to shipped unit.

It suits you if you like solving new problems, working with your hands, and seeing your design turn into a product.

It is not a fit if your experience is mainly in plant maintenance, facilities engineering, equipment operation, preventive maintenance planning, or HVAC and building services. Those are respectable careers, and this is not one of them — you would be unhappy here within a month, and so would we.
