Job summary

Austal Philippines is seeking a Mechanical Draftsperson to prepare engineering drawings and ensure compliance with Austal quality standards, vessel general arrangement, and project specifications. The role provides support to the design team from concept through production and delivery, with drawings to meet the schedule and budgeted hours.

The task needs to meet the drawing schedule, within the budgeted allocated hours.

About The Job Mechanical Draftsperson

PURPOSE

The Mechanical Draftsperson is responsible for undertaking the drawings assigned to that person and ensuring that the drawings meet the internal/external drafting standards, Austal quality standards, vessel general arrangement and specification, and are fit for purpose. The task needs to meet the drawing schedule, within the budgeted allocated hours.

The Mechanical Draftsperson will provide support to the design team and production/projects for the design of the vessel from preliminary design through production and to delivery

The Mechanical Draftsperson will undertake duties with limited supervision and good competence.

Essential

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Technical drafting graduate (TESDA) or any Vocational with Mechanical drafting experience.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with design teams both in written and spoken English.
• Competence 2D AutoCAD
• Basic understanding of materials and their compatibility in a marine environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Attentive to detail and critically minded.
  
  

Desirable

• 1 - 3+ Years relevant work experience, preferably in a shipbuilding industry (aluminium or steel)
• CAD drafting experience in a design office/shipyard
• Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
• Understanding of AutoCAD manipulation
• Competence both 3D AutoCAD.
• Competent with MS Office, Word & Excel, outlook
• Experience in Drafting within the Marine Industry.
• Interest in the Marine Industry.
