POSITION PURPOSE
The Mechanical Designer is responsible for developing high-quality Revit-based BIM models, mechanical system designs, simulations, and technical documentation for Mechanical Building Services. The role is part of a collaborative project team delivering international design projects located in Europe.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create accurate Revit models for mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, FPS, and other building services) for various project types such as hospitals, offices, and industrial facilities.
- Develop fully coordinated 3D BIM models and simulations using Revit, based on markups, consultant inputs, and design requirements.
- Set up Revit views, sheets, worksets, and file structures to support team workflows and efficient model production.
- Implement Revit worksharing processes and ensure proper model coordination within the project team.
- Perform clash detection in Navisworks or similar tools using exported Revit models.
- Build, customize, and maintain Revit families for mechanical components as needed.
- Work closely with other disciplines to integrate mechanical models into multidisciplinary BIM environments.
- Assist in producing construction documents and as-built documentation directly from Revit models.
- Update Revit models and sheets based on site changes, coordination instructions, and project updates.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver consistent, accurate BIM outputs.
- Maintain and apply company/project BIM standards, templates, naming conventions, and content within Revit.
- Review models regularly to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with modeling standards.
- Provide technical input and coordination feedback to designers and engineers to improve model accuracy.
- Produce Revit-based models and drawings aligned with project guidelines and BIM requirements.
- Organize, audit, clean up, and troubleshoot Revit files to ensure optimal model performance.
- Perform other modeling-related duties as instructed to support the organization’s Mission, Vision, Strategies, and Core Values.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Required).
- Licensed/Registered Mechanical Engineer (Preferred).
- At least 3 years of working experience in using Revit
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and BIM workflows.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) is a plus.
