Job summary

GHD Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Materials Engineer in Metro Manila to support marine and materials engineering projects. You’ll manage small to medium projects, lead assessments of condition, durability, residual life, and asset integrity, and develop repair and protection strategies.

The role requires a 5+ year track record in materials engineering, familiarity with cathodic protection or coatings, and PRC licensure preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil and/or materials engineering required; Master’s in materials engineering a plus.
  • PRC licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in materials engineering, asset integrity or durability engineering.
  • Experience inspecting and remediating existing assets and structures is highly desirable.
  • Experience with condition, durability, structural and residual life assessments.
  • Experience developing materials specifications and repair strategies for durability.
  • Experience with cathodic protection systems, protective coatings, or corrosion mitigation solutions is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated engineering solutions.
  • Support business development through proposals and client engagements.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and best practices.

We are looking for skilled and experienced Materials Engineer to support the business in delivering marine and materials engineering projects and managing small to medium-size projects within the business group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver materials engineering assessments, including condition, durability, structural, residual life, and asset integrity assessments.
  • Develop remediation, repair, life extension, cathodic protection, and protective coating solutions for existing assets and structures.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, design documentation, and client deliverables.
  • Analyze and interpret materials, inspection, testing, and structural performance data.
  • Undertake site inspections, investigations, and condition assessments to support project delivery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated engineering solutions.
  • Support business development activities through proposals, client engagement, and technical presentations.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and best practices in materials engineering and asset management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil and/or materials engineering or other related discipline, Master’s degree in materials engineering is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PRC licensed) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in materials engineering, asset integrity, durability engineering, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in the inspection, assessment, and remediation of existing assets and structures is highly desirable.
  • Experience conducting condition, durability, structural, and residual life assessments.
  • Experience developing materials specifications and repair strategies to address structural and durability requirements.
  • Experience with cathodic protection systems, protective coatings, or corrosion mitigation solutions is advantageous.
  • Proven project management capability, including managing multiple projects and competing priorities.

This job offer can be based either in Makatior Quezon City office, depending on your home base / location.
