Bounty Fresh Food, Inc. is seeking a Material Planner to translate production forecasts into packaging procurement plans and optimize inventory for feed packaging materials. The role ensures uninterrupted bagging operations while minimizing working capital and obsolescence.
The candidate will convert MPS into weekly/monthly plans, manage vendor schedules, safety stock, and ERP BOMs, with a focus on accuracy and timely deliveries within the food production industry.
Job Sumamry
The Material Planner oversees the end-to-end requirement planning, supplier call-offs, and inventory optimization for all commercial feed packaging materials across feed mill bagging lines and toll-manufacturing facilities. This role translates finished feed production forecasts and master schedules into precise packaging procurement plans—safeguarding continuous feed packing and bagging operations while minimizing working capital, storage congestion, and design obsolescence.
Key responsibilities
Break down Master Production Schedules (MPS) into weekly and monthly time-phased packaging requirement plans for all bagging lines
Issue release schedules to accredited packaging vendors; monitor PO delivery commitments and expedite orders to prevent plant downtime
Establish and dynamically adjust safety stock levels and reorder triggers based on seasonality, feed sales volume, and supplier lead times
Identify obsolete, phased-out, or slow-moving sack designs early; coordinate with Sales and Operations to burn old packaging stock prior to redesign rollouts
Manage artwork, branding revisions, and BAI label updates to burn existing bag stocks smoothly with zero write-offs
Track vendor lead-time reliability, batch production cycles, and MOQ constraints to avoid line starve
Coordinate with warehouses for First-In, First-Out (FIFO) consumption to prevent packaging degradation
Ensure all ordered sacks strictly adhere to BAI registration standards, GMP, and ISO quality specifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Agribusiness, Economics, Accountancy, or related quantitative fields
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; relevant internship (OJT) or 0–2 years experience in materials planning, MRP, or manufacturing operations is an advantage
Strong analytical thinking, high numerical accuracy, proactive supplier coordination, and a firm grasp of supply-demand balancing
Understanding of WPP feed sacks (25kg, 50kg, mash, pellet, crumble), barrier liners, valve bags, and automated packing rolls
Exposure or adaptability to learn ERP systems (SAP MM/PP, Oracle NetSuite) for Bill of Materials (BOM) breakdown, purchase requisitions, and PO tracking
Strong proficiency in MS Excel (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, and dynamic inventory burn-down models)
