Job summary

OSM MARITIME SERVICES, INC. in the Philippines seeks a Vessel Accountant to handle financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting for assigned vessels within OSM Thome.

The role ensures compliance with financial policies and coordinates with internal stakeholders. You will prepare accurate financial reports, perform variance analyses, and support with accruals and systems such as Eye-share, while liaising with vessel owners and suppliers to ensure timely settlements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the maritime or ship management industry.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, and international accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Record, summarize, and evaluate financial transactions, including accruals, in compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly financial reports with relevant commentary on variances.
• Perform actual vs. budget analysis, identifying discrepancies and making necessary accruals based on trends, prepayments, and supporting systems (e.g., Eye-share).
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely resolution of open balances.
• Import, review, and control the purchase order (PO) list to ensure financial accuracy.
