BBC Manila Marine Engineering Services, the Philippine office of BBC Chartering, seeks a Marine Transport Associate to join our engineering team in Quezon City. Ideal for graduate engineers with 1–2 years of professional experience who want to build a career in marine transportation, heavy lifting, and offshore engineering.

You will support planning and execution of marine transportation and offshore operations, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 1–2 years of professional working experience.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with marine transportation and heavy lift engineering activities.
• Support the preparation of loadout, sea transportation and lifting studies.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Review vessel particulars, cargo information, drawings, and project specifications.
• Assist with vessel stability, ballast, and cargo securing assessments.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Marine Transport Associate to join our engineering team.

This position is ideal for graduate engineers with 1–2 years of professional experience who are interested in developing a career in marine transportation, heavy lifting, and offshore engineering.

You will work alongside experienced engineers and project teams to support the planning and execution of marine transportation and offshore operations. Training and mentoring will be provided to help you develop practical expertise in marine operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with marine transportation and heavy lift engineering activities.
• Support the preparation of loadout, sea transportation and lifting studies.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Review vessel particulars, cargo information, engineering drawings, and project specifications.
• Assist with vessel stability, ballast, and cargo securing assessments.
• Support engineering reviews, risk assessments, and project meetings.
• Coordinate with project engineers, clients, contractors, and other disciplines.
• Assist with preparation of technical submissions and project deliverables.
• Participate in site, vessel, port, and offshore activities when required.
• Follow company procedures, engineering standards, and project requirements.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 1–2 years of professional working experience.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good working knowledge of Autocad and Microsoft Office
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in marine transportation and offshore engineering.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to travel or work at project sites, ports, vessels, or offshore locations when required.
