Job summary

GECO Philippines, part of the GECO Asia Group, is seeking a Mid-Level QA Engineer with strong manual testing, UI/web testing, API validation, and SQL skills. The role focuses on e-commerce platforms, particularly checkout and payment systems, and requires working in an Agile environment to ensure high-quality software delivery.

You will develop test strategies, create plans, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including automation initiatives, to improve product quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Software QA and Manual Testing.
• At least 1 year of experience in the e-commerce domain, specifically checkout and payment systems.
• Strong experience in UI/Web Application Testing.
• Intermediate experience with API Testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar platforms.
• Intermediate experience with SQL for data validation and database testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Proven experience creating test plans, test cases, and RTMs.
• Basic automation testing background or formal training in automation testing.

Responsibilities

• Follow SDLC, CMMI, and QA best practices throughout the software testing lifecycle.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and UI/web application testing.
• Design, develop, and execute test cases using appropriate test design techniques.
• Create and maintain Master Test Plans, test strategies, test estimates, and test documentation.
• Prepare and maintain test cases, test scripts, test data, and RTMs.
• Execute test scenarios and provide detailed defect reports with clear documentation.
• Review test artifacts and provide constructive feedback to improve quality.
• Prepare Test Summary Reports and Acceptance Test Certificates.
• Ensure proper setup and readiness of test environments and test data.
• Collaborate with Automation QA Engineers on automation initiatives.
• Execute and maintain automated test cases when required.
• Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements and identify potential quality risks.
• Provide recommendations and insights to continuously improve product quality.
• Record daily activities using ATLAS or other project management/tracking tools.
• Ensure compliance with established QA processes and CMMI standards.
• Prepare testing reports and project quality documentation.
• Support QA Leads in managing small to medium-sized projects.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior QA team members.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and support teams.
• Promote effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration across project teams.
• Provide support to team members to ensure successful project delivery.
• Continuously enhance knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and industry practices.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies, testing trends, and best practices.

Mid-Level QA Engineer (Intermediate SQL)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Mid QA Engineer with strong expertise in manual testing, web/UI applications, API testing, SQL validation, and basic automation testing. The ideal candidate should have experience working with e-commerce platforms, particularly checkout and payment systems, and a strong understanding of software quality assurance processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software by developing effective test strategies, executing comprehensive test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Testing

• Follow SDLC, CMMI, and QA best practices throughout the software testing lifecycle.
