Job summary

GECO Asia Pte Ltd Philippines is seeking a Mid-Level Automation QA Engineer to join our growing team. You will design, implement, and maintain automated tests with Playwright, and enhance existing QA frameworks to ensure high quality software deliveries.

You will collaborate with Development and QA to expand test coverage, perform functional and regression testing, and mentor junior QA staff in a hybrid, night-shift friendly setup located in Alabang, Muntinlupa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years in automation testing and 1 year in manual testing.
• Strong hands-on Selenium WebDriver with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Playwright training or exposure preferred; hands-on experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, or C#.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
• Familiarity with databases (Oracle/MySQL/SQL Server/MongoDB).
• Ability to lead small QA efforts and document test plans.

Mid-Level Automation QA Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactiveMid-Level Automation QA Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in test automation, a solid understanding of QA processes, and the ability to contribute to building and improving automation solutions.

Experience withPlaywright is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided for candidates with the right automation background. In this role, you will design and maintain automated test solutions, execute testing strategies, and help ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality software products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and other automation tools.
• Improve and optimize existing automation frameworks for web, mobile, and desktop applications.
• Work closely with Development and QA teams to increase test coverage and enhance overall software quality.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, test reports, and defect documentation.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects through resolution.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior QA team members.
• Ensure compliance with SDLC processes, QA methodologies, and quality standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance QA processes, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Automation Testing and 1 year of experience in Manual Testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver using JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Training or exposure to Playwright is required; hands-on experience is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, JavaScript, or C#.
• Experience working with automation frameworks such as BDD, DDT, or KDT.
• Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
• Familiarity with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB.
• Experience creating test strategies, master test plans, and supporting QA initiatives or leading small QA teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid setup with flexible schedules and occasional travel as needed.
• ISTQB Certification is a plus.

Additional / Preferred Skills

• Candidates with Playwright training or exposure are welcome, even without prior commercial experience, provided they are willing to learn.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright is highly desirable.
• At least 6 months of experience in AI-related implementation, such as AI-assisted testing, automation improvements, or QA productivity tools.
