Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a fully remote, hourly contractor to review and generate language content for AI training. You will assess AI responses for accuracy and reasoning, ensuring clear explanations and high-quality model guidance.

You will apply Mandarin localization judgment with English proficiency to maintain consistent tone and cultural nuance across use cases. Ideal candidates have a strong localization background, CAT tools experience, and the ability to work across time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Translation, Linguistics, Localization, or related field.
• Native Mandarin Chinese with strong locale conventions for China.
• Minimum C1 English proficiency for prompts, sources, and evaluation guidelines.
• 5+ years localization/translation experience.
• Experience with MQM/LQA concepts (severity, category, root-cause thinking).
• Proficiency with CAT tools and QA workflows.
• Excellent editorial judgment with attention to detail.
• Ability to fact-check localized content across sources.
• Comfort as hourly contractor across time zones.
• Experience with AI data training/annotation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create prompts and responses to guide AI learning and reflection of diverse subjects.
• Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve accuracy, fluency, and relevance.
• Ensure Model Integrity: Test AI models for inaccuracies or biases, validating reliability across use cases.
