About the role Coco Harvest Inc., is seeking an experienced Maintenance Section Manager to join our operations team in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our manufacturing and logistics operations. As Maintenance Section Manager, you will oversee the maintenance department, manage preventative and corrective maintenance programmes, and drive operational excellence across all production facilities.
Key responsibilities Prepares and oversees preventive maintenance schedules and activities aimed at minimizing operational downtime of utilities and heavy equipment while ensuring the availability and accessibility of plant facilities.
Assists the Maintenance Planner in the preparation and updating of the maintenance calendar, preventive maintenance activities, and maintenance checklists.
Manages and monitors the inventory of maintenance tools, equipment, spare parts, and other required resources.
Diagnoses and provides technical direction in troubleshooting major mechanical problems involving plant utilities and heavy equipment.
Directs and supervises the implementation of scheduled maintenance, repair, and corrective maintenance activities.
Directs and supervises Utilities and Facilities Maintenance personnel and Heavy Equipment Mechanics.
Determines and secures the required materials, supplies, manpower, tools, and equipment needed for maintenance activities.
Provides technical assistance to Shift Engineers during critical and major mechanical maintenance works.
Ensures the completeness, quality, reliability, and timely completion of maintenance activities.
Monitors the condition and performance of equipment, utilities, heavy equipment, and plant facilities and recommends appropriate corrective actions.
Participates in the implementation of engineering, equipment, and facility improvement projects.
Coordinates and works with third-party suppliers and contractors for specialized maintenance, repair, and technical services.
Ensures that approved maintenance methods, procedures, work instructions, and standards are properly established, implemented, and followed.
Takes charge of the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, ensuring proper utilization and maintenance practices.
Ensures proper cleanliness, housekeeping, and workplace organization after every maintenance activity.
Ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures, as well as applicable company policies and standards.
Recommends and implements process, equipment, and maintenance improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and operational performance.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Section Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or in a similar maintenance leadership role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, plant utilities, heavy equipment, machinery, and production support systems.
Demonstrated experience in preventive and corrective maintenance planning, implementation, and monitoring.
Strong knowledge and experience in mechanical troubleshooting, equipment diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to supervise, develop, and motivate maintenance personnel.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple maintenance activities, priorities, and deadlines.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety, environmental requirements, and maintenance-related compliance standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with Engineering, Operations, Production, QA, Procurement, and external contractors or suppliers.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and other maintenance planning and reporting tools.
Experience in maintenance data analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring is an advantage.
Experience in project implementation, equipment improvement, and contractor management is preferred.
Relevant professional license or certification is an advantage.
Experience in food manufacturing, coconut processing, agricultural processing, or other industrial manufacturing environments is an advantage.
Experience managing maintenance activities involving plant utilities, heavy equipment, facilities, and motor pool operations.
Experience leading major equipment breakdowns, critical maintenance activities, and engineering improvement projects.
