Job summary

Q2 HR Solutions in Pasig, Philippines is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to oversee daily safe and efficient operations of our solar power plant. You will lead maintenance activities and provide technical guidance.

Responsibilities include planning corrective and preventive maintenance, conducting troubleshooting, preparing procurement-ready drawings, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Engineer license or equivalent credential.
• 2–3 years in plant operations and maintenance, preferably in utility-scale renewables.
• Familiarity with Job Hazard Analysis, HRAC, LOTO, and work permitting is a plus.
• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Able to work in a team, under pressure and with tight schedules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare maintenance work plans (daily/weekly/monthly/annual) and monitor execution.
• Carry out technical assessments and troubleshooting as required.
• Prepare drawings and technical docs for procurement of materials and services.
• Conduct toolbox meetings including JHA, HRAC, LOTO documentation.
• Develop energy-efficiency studies and plans for the plant.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance on inverters, transformers, switchgear.
• Supervise electricians in repair and replacement tasks.
• Analyze equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and maintenance records.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and RA 7920.
• Produce maintenance reports and inventory records.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible in the overall daily safe and efficient operations of the solar power plant. Technical lead for maintenance activities

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual corrective and preventive maintenance work plan and monitor its execution.
• Carry out technical assessments and perform trouble shooting as required.
• Prepare required drawings and technical documents for procurement of materials, components and services.
• Conduct toolbox meeting before each start of work / activities.
• The Toolbox Meeting form must include Job Hazzard Analysis, HRAC, LOTO. Such as but not limited to Work Permit, Hot Works Permit, and Work at Heights and other relative documentation.
• Develop technical, economical and feasible studies / plans in aid to plant's energy efficiency.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance (inverters, transformers, switchgear).
• Supervise electricians in repair and replacement tasks.
• Analyze equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and maintenance records.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and RA 7920.
• Outputs: Maintenance reports, failure analysis, inventory records.
• Perform other ancillary functions that may be delegated as the management deems necessary

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Registered Engineer.
• At least 2-3 years of working experience in plant operations and maintenance, preferably with experience in utility scale renewable power plant (solar, wind, hydro).
• Familiarity of Job Hazzard Analysis, HRAC, LOTO, Work Permitting is a plus
• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight schedules.
