Job summary

Q2 HR Solutions is seeking an Operations Engineer to oversee the daily safe and efficient operations of a solar power plant in Metro Manila. You will be responsible for coordinating switching activities, monitoring plant parameters, and ensuring data integrity.

Candidates should have engineering registration, 2–3 years in plant operations, advanced MS Office, and strong teamwork and communication skills. The role requires ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.

Qualifications

• Registered Engineer with active license/registration.
• 2–3 years of experience in plant operations and maintenance (preferably utility-scale renewable power).
• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight schedules.
• Excellent time management and organization skills.
• Strong written and oral communication/presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily plant switching (energization/de-energization) per SOPs.
• Monitor plant operating parameters (transmission lines, substation, switchgear, inverters, transformers).
• Perform daily visual inspections for defects or anomalies.
• Troubleshoot alarms and breakdowns in plant systems.
• Coordinate with Grid System (NGCP) on switching sequences during maintenance.
• Perform Operations Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) per procedure.
• Gather and record data from monitored parameters.
• Coordinate with Maintenance team for work orders.
• Ensure data integrity of operating data.
• Prepare daily operations reports.
• Perform other ancillary duties as needed by management.

Job description

The Operations Engineer is responsible in the overall daily safe and efficient operations of the solar power plant

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct daily plant switching (energization and de-energization) and isolation as per standard operating procedures
• Perform daily monitoring of plant operating parameters equipment and systems (transmission lines, substation, switchgears, inverters, transformers, etc.)
• Conduct daily visual checks of plant equipment and systems to inspect for signs of defects or abnormality
• Conduct troubleshooting of plant system and equipment alarms, and/or breakdowns
• Coordinate with Grid System (NGCP) to ensure the proper switching sequence protocol is followed during maintenance activities
• Conduct Operations Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) as per procedure
• Gather and record data from monitored parameters
• Coordinate with the Maintenance team for any maintenance work orders
• Ensures that operating data is fully captured and checked to ensure data integrity
• Prepare daily operations report
• Perform other ancillary functions that may be delegated as the management deems necessary

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Registered Engineer.
• At least 2-3 years of working experience in plant operations and maintenance, preferably with experience in utility scale renewable power plant (solar, wind, hydro).
• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work in a team environment.
