Job summary

Austal Philippines in Balamban, Cebu invites applications for a Machinist role in our Balamban facility. You will set up and operate a variety of machine shop tools to manufacture and repair precision parts and equipment, reporting to the Production Supervisor-Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine shop tools (drill presses, lathes, power saws, grinders, milling machines, radial drills) to manufacture and repair precision parts and equipment.
• Work with a team to minimize production time and maximize quality under supervision.

To set up and operate a variety of machine shop tools and equipment (e.g., drill presses, lathes, power saws, grinder, milling machines, radial drills) in order to manufacture and repair precision parts and items of equipment.

Reporting to and taking direction from the Production Supervisor-Engineering, the tradesperson-Machinist is responsible for working with a team of employees to achieve minimum production time and maximum quality whilst maintaining a positive and motivated team environment.

Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:

• At least 2 years' experience in shipbuilding Industry.
• At least high school or technical/vocational school graduate.
• At least 2 years' experience working in a machine shop.
