The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Emergency Department (ED) provides patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), advanced practice provider, or physician. The LPN supports the emergency team by observing patients, gathering clinical information, administering medications and IV therapy as permitted by licensure, and performing delegated tasks in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
