Job summary

Moder is seeking experienced Life Underwriters to join our on-site team in Alabang. The role focuses on evaluating life insurance applications, applying underwriting guidelines, and making sound risk decisions to protect our customers and business.

You will analyse medical, financial, occupational, and lifestyle information, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior members to raise underwriting standards. This is a growth-focused, tech-enabled insurtech environment.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of Life/Health Underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of medical, non-medical, and financial risk assessment.
• Experience underwriting term and permanent life insurance products.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive, collaborative, and agile mindset.
• 5 to 7+ years of Life/Health Underwriting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of risk selection across medical, non-medical, and financial underwriting.
• Experience handling complex cases and making independent underwriting decisions.
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience underwriting term and permanent life insurance products.
• Ability to influence process improvements and mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate life insurance applications and determine risk acceptability based on medical, financial, occupational, and lifestyle factors.
• Apply underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures to make sound risk decisions.
• Assess whether to accept, modify, rate, postpone, or decline risks.
• Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and professionally.
• Gather and analyze information necessary for case assessment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve underwriting processes and customer experience.
• Work independently while maintaining quality, productivity, and mortality objectives.
