Job summary

Globe, based in Makati, Philippines, is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support and regulatory compliance for the company. The role reports to the Head of Legal and focuses on managing legal risk and supporting business operations.

You will structure, draft, review and negotiate contracts, render legal opinions, monitor regulatory changes, conduct trainings, and help develop legal policies and guidelines to ensure the company’s interests are protected and aligned with

Qualifications

• Strong background in corporate law and regulatory compliance.
• Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
• Ability to provide strategic legal advice to business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support Head of Legal and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts aligned with objectives.
• Provide legal opinions and monitor regulatory updates.
• Develop and maintain legal guidelines, policies, trainings, and form agreements.
• Conduct trainings on legal matters and business processes.
• Support KPIs of the legal department.
• Assist with government regulatory compliance letters and demand letters.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head of Legal.

Job Description

The Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support and advice to the company, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and protecting the company’s interests. This role requires a highly skilled legal professional with a strong background in corporate law and regulatory compliance. The Legal Counsel will report directly to the Head of Legal and will play a critical role in managing legal risks and supporting business operations.

• Support and assist the Head of Legal of the company in the performance of his/her assigned duties and responsibilities;
• Collaborate with members of other departments;
• Ensure the company’s compliance with all relevant laws;
• Structure, draft, review and negotiate contracts/agreements in order to align with the company’s objectives;
• Provide strategic and practical advice on contract terms and associated risks to the relevant business stakeholders;
• Render legal opinions;
• Monitor updates in relevant legal landscape in order to timely and effectively implement compliance changes;
• Assist in developing, maintaining and improving legal guidelines, policies, internal trainings and standard form agreements;
• Conducts trainings/orientation on legal matters and the business processes of the company;
• Supports the entire objectives and accomplishment of the legal department’s Key Performance Indicators;
• Perform other legal services in a timely manner, such as but not limited to compliance with regulatory requirements of government agencies, preparation of letters to government agencies and demand letters; and
• Exercise other functions and perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Head of Legal of the company.
