Job summary

Globe Telecom in the Philippines seeks a skilled Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support, ensure regulatory compliance, and protect the company’s interests. This role reports to the Head of Legal and will manage legal risks across the business.

You will draft and negotiate contracts, render opinions, monitor regulatory changes, and collaborate with other departments to align legal and commercial objectives. Strong corporate law background and regulatory experience are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Legal in assigned duties.
• Collaborate with other departments.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts to meet objectives.
• Advise on contract terms and risks to stakeholders.
• Render legal opinions.
• Monitor legal updates and implement changes.
• Develop and maintain legal guidelines and training.
• Conduct trainings on legal matters and processes.
• Support KPIs of the legal department.
• Assist with regulatory compliance letters to agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Head of Legal.

The Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support and advice to the company, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and protecting the company’s interests. This role requires a highly skilled legal professional with a strong background in corporate law and regulatory compliance. The Legal Counsel will report directly to the Head of Legal and will play a critical role in managing legal risks and supporting business operations.

• Support and assist the Head of Legal of the company in the performance of his/her assigned duties and responsibilities
• Collaborate with members of other departments
• Ensure the company’s compliance with all relevant laws
• Structure, draft, review and negotiate contracts/agreements in order to align with the company’s objectives
• Provide strategic and practical advice on contract terms and associated risks to the relevant business stakeholders
• Render legal opinions
• Monitor updates in relevant legal landscape in order to timely and effectively implement compliance changes
• Assist in developing, maintaining and improving legal guidelines, policies, internal trainings and standard form agreements
• Conducts trainings/orientation on legal matters and the business processes of the company
• Supports the entire objectives and accomplishment of the legal department’s Key Performance Indicators
• Perform other legal services in a timely manner, such as but not limited to compliance with regulatory requirements of government agencies, preparation of letters to government agencies and demand letters
• Exercise other functions and perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Head of Legal of the company
