Qualifications

• JD degree and active Philippine Bar in good standing.
• 5–8 years in energy, power, or infrastructure law.
• Experience with renewable energy, project finance, or large-scale infra.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine energy regulations.
• Experience with land-related legal documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end legal support for solar project development and execution.
• Lead and review contracts including EPC, supply, O&M, land leases, and service contracts.
• Oversee land acquisition and right-of-way documentation, due diligence, and title verification.
• Ensure compliance with Philippine energy laws, environmental regulations, and LGU requirements.
• Liaise with DOE, ERC, DENR, NGCP, and local government units.
• Support permitting, licensing, and regulatory submissions.
• Identify legal risks and provide mitigation strategies aligned with timelines.
• Assist in dispute resolution, claims management, and negotiations.
• Coordinate with external counsel when necessary.
• Provide legal advisory to project management and executive leadership.

The Legal Counsel supports the development and implementation of solar energy projects based in Gapan, Nueva Ecija. This is a project-based engagement ideal for a legal professional with strong experience in energy law, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure development.

The Legal Counsel will play a critical role in ensuring legal soundness across project development, construction, regulatory approvals, land acquisition, and commercial contracting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end-to‑end legal support for solar energy project development and execution.
• Lead and review contracts including EPC agreements, supply agreements, O&M contracts, land lease agreements, and service contracts.
• Oversee land acquisition and right‑of‑way documentation, due diligence, and title verification.
• Ensure compliance with Philippine energy laws, environmental regulations, and local government requirements.
• Liaise with government agencies such as DOE, ERC, DENR, NGCP, and local government units.
• Support permitting, licensing, and regulatory submissions.
• Identify legal risks and provide mitigation strategies aligned with project timelines.
• Assist in dispute resolution, claims management, and negotiations.
• Coordinate with external counsel when necessary.
• Provide legal advisory to project management and executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree; member in good standing of the Philippine Bar.
• Minimum 5-8 years of legal experience, with strong preference for energy, power, or infrastructure law background.
• Demonstrated experience in renewable energy projects, project finance, or large-scale infrastructure development is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine regulatory framework in the energy sector.
• Experience handling land-related legal documentation is a plus.
• Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Willing to be based in Gapan, Nueva Ecija (onsite presence required).
